Buzara is Croatian way of cooking mussels, scampi or vongole with only few simple ingredients. What can be said about well known specialty – stewed savory mussels? Those who like mussels will admit that there are no words to describe a delight of mussels in a wonderful flavoursome sauce! And it is so simple!


1,5 kg mussels
150 ml olive oil
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons bread crumbs
4 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
200 ml white wine
1 teaspoon Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder

  • 1 Clean (tear off beards) and wash mussels.
  • 2 Heat olive oil in a pan and add: pressed garlic, bread crumbs, parsley, wine, Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder and pepper.
  • 3 Add mussels, cover and cook until they open. Discard any unopened mussels.


When buying mussels, make sure that you pay attention to their freshness. Mussels must be firmly closed. Mussels that are opened in their uncooked state are not fresh and are surely not recommended for consumption.


Serve with bread.
