Soups are inevitable part of Slovene cuisine. Especially the creamy mushroom soups, beef or potato soups, served in a damper. The following recipe is also popular, do try it!


100 g pancetta (or bacon), cubed
4 garlic cloves, crushed
500 g cabbage, sliced
2 teaspoons Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder
4 tablespoons rice, boiled
60 g parmesan, grated

Preparation For this recipe you only need imagination!

  • 1 In hot oil, fry the pancetta shortly.
  • 2 Add garlic and cover with water.
  • 3 Bring the mixture to boil, add cabbage and Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder and then cook until the cabbage softens.


Potatoes, cut in to small cubes, can also be used instead of rice.


Cabbage soup can be served with boiled rice and cheese.
