Be trendy – adopt a tree

We have already talked about the personalization trend, which has affected even the food industry and now there
is also a new trend which is being set everywhere - adoption. The trend was
launched unintentionally by the environmental activitists in order to protect
the environment, animals and plants. Therefore it is not unusual to have an
endangered species of animals in a remote part of the earth. But it is less
common to adopt, for example, an olive tree. The company
Nudo has come up with this idea. The olive oil producer gives their
consumers an opportunity to be involved in the process of nurturing and farming
the trees which grow in the Italian Le Marche.
The tree adopter is given a personalized certificate of adoption, a brochure about the tree, the spring package which consists of olive oil produced from their own tree and an autumn supply of 3 aromatic extra virgin olive oil bottles. Naturally, there is an adequate financial compensation for adoption of £65.00. Nudo encourages people who adopt a tree, to visit the tree, bond with it, water it, hug it and be photographed with it. Those interested in the progress of their tree can receive information about their tree upon request.
We can see the extent of this trend in the food industry and the best example is the producer of sweet delights Yachana Gourmet. The adoption of the cocoa tree is a part of the fairtrade plan to save the Ecuadorian rainforest which gives the producers an alternative to logging and sheep cattling, two of the biggest threats of the Amazon rainforests. The benefits are numerous, the consumers have the possibility of being connected with the source of their food (if possible organic) and producers and farmers a steady income and the preservation of the authentic production.
Besides olives and chocolates, it is not unusual to adopt mango, avocado, litchi and many others. In a slightly different form, privileges and the club memberships are offered to users by some whiskey makers or for instance by wine makers. The membership provides numerous pleasures and privileges as the producers are pointing out, for example: several whiskey bottles from their own reserve for the following 50 years and many others. This is also an idea for a valuable and unique gift.
The food industry is not immune to the global trends and it sets the standards itself. If the first sentence or the second is true, we are talking about the perfect synergy. It is up to you to decide.
